Jaeger-LeCoultre unveils Polaris Geographic

New travel time watch is among additions to JLC’s Polaris collection

Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled the new Polaris Geographic, along with other additions to the Polaris collection.

The Geographic is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s signature complication that allows travellers to read the exact time at home and abroad.

It has previously been available on the Master Control collection and it has now been introduced on a Polaris for the first time.

Instead of just showing the hour of a second time zone, the Geographic provides a 24-hour night/day indicator and displays the name of a city relating to each of the 24 major time zones, showing any that observe daylight saving hours.

You therefore have the option of setting the second time according to location rather than calculating location, and thanks to a stop-seconds feature, the time zone is accurate to the seconds, not just the hour.

The displays are arranged asymmetrically, with the second time zone in a sub-dial at 6 o’clock and the power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock.

The sapphire crystal case-back reveals the Calibre 939 automatic movement, offering a power reserve of 70 hours.

It comes on interchangeable textured black rubber and blue-grey canvas straps and the 42mm steel case is water-resistant to 100m.

The Polaris collection is also expanded with new dial colours on two other models.

The Polaris Date is presented with a graded ocean-grey dial, while the Polaris Perpetual Calendar is offered in pink gold with a striking gradient green dial.

The Polaris Date features automatic Calibre 899, also with 70-hour power reserve, and comes on a textured rubber strap that is easily interchangeable with a metal bracelet or other Polaris straps. The 42mm steel case is water-resistant to 200m.

The Polaris Perpetual Calendar, introduced to the collection in 2022, has a calendar that always shows the correct date, automatically adjusting for the different duration of months and even for leap years and needs no manual correction until 2100.

The Perpetual Calendar’s 42mm pink-gold case is water-resistant to 100m.
